Public Transport
For travel on Saturday for the tower tour, a car would be ideal. It is possible to get to Prestwold by bus, but you'd need a car to get to Barrow on Soar. You could then walk to Quorn in half an hour, and you could take a bus from Quorn to Loughborough easily.

Other things to do
There are plenty of things to do in Loughborough other than ring:
The Carillon tower and War Memorial Museum in Queens Park are open Thursday and Saturday 10am - 3pm. There are often Carillon recitals on Thursdays and Sundays, 1pm in Queens Park.
Also in Queens Park is the 14-tonne mould used to make Great Paul bell, in St Paul’s Cathedral.
The Great Central Railway: Quorn and Woodhouse station is about 1 mile away and is on the line that runs from Loughborough to Leicester North, stopping at Quorn and Woodhouse and Rothley stations. It would be possible to do a round trip on a steam train and arrive back in for the SRCY business meeting! Details at www.gcrailway.co.uk.
