Triennial Dinner
The Society of Royal Cumberland Youths is holding its triennial formal dinner in Norwich in 2015, on Saturday September 19th 2015, in the Noverre Ballroom at The Assembly House, Theatre Street, Norwich (near St Peter Mancroft). We have been invited by the Norwich ringers as part of the celebrations taking place to commemorate the tercentenary of the first ever recorded peal.
This peal was rung on Monday 2nd May 1715 at St Peter Mancroft, Norwich. The method was “Grandsire Bob Triples”, which we now know as Plain Bob Triples. The peal was rung by members of the Norwich Scholars, over 30 years before the foundation of the Cumberlands.
Dinner ticket and wine sales have now ended. Members who have purchased tickets should have received an email from the Honorary Secretary confirming their menu selections and any wine pre-ordered. Members who have asked to be included in a peal attempt on dinner day will be advised by the Master where their attempt is. There will be two towers open for general ringing in Norwich city centre as follows:
- St George, Colegate (6) 11.15 – 12.00
- St Michael & All Angels, Coslany (8) 14.00 – 14.45
Triennial Dinner Reception
The Drinks reception will be from 6pm and dinner will be served at 7.30pm.
