Not The Dinner Day 2022

After what seems to be a very long time, with the dastardly corona virus finally having settled down again after its mercifully brief winter encore, for the first time in two years the infamous “Not the Dinner Day” was once again hosted in London. The traditional and much-loved format of morning and afternoon peal attempts, followed by a delectable curry and socialising was indulged in by around 35 members, including several of the society’s younger ringers.

Three out of the five attempts were scored which included the standard 41 spliced surprise minor and two peals of Bristol, one being of major at Spitalfields and the other of Royal at Kensington. Unfortunately, both morning peal attempts came to grief. Nonetheless, it proved to be a great day to catch up with other society members and it was worth my early start from Birmingham.

My thanks go out to the officers for their superb organisational skills for putting together another great day.
